Gallery & Room Hire

Hiring the Temporary Exhibition Gallery for your exhibition

Our main temporary exhibition space is available for individuals and groups to hire for exhibitions. We make the space available to local artists, photographers, makers and creatives to share their work with the local community. We charge a small fee for room hire, but try to keep it as low as possible, and for selling exhibitions we charge 20% commission. You can hire the space for a minimum period of 2 weeks, and a maximum of 8 weeks.

The Gallery is on the ground floor of the museum, accessible both from the High Street (ramped access) and from South Street car park through the museum garden (5 steps).  Entrance to the museum is free and we are open Wednesday to Saturday from 10am to 4pm and Sunday, from 11 am to 3pm.  We receive an average of 15,000 visits a year.  Coffee and tea is served to visitors in the Manning gallery, creating a pleasant, relaxed environment in which to enjoy the exhibitions.
